ELEMENTAL WITCHES

Into the darkest, hidden corners of Hyrule have grown a small community of witches. Their powers come from ancient lineage or from an utter devotion to the elemental forces they wish to bend over their will. Some witches spend decades working and studying old scrolls and books, immersed in knowledge and wisdom, they use their magic only when necessary or in exceptional circumstances. Witches appreciate the harmony and the forces of nature, they're free spirits who don't like being told what to do. Due to hostility between them and other people and fear of their mighty powers, witches have remain hidden and can only be found by those who know where to search, those who possess deep respect for elemental forces and for this community's wisdom.

The witch community is independent. Despite this lack of leadership or authorial figure, witches share the same respect for their own kind and for their powers which bring responsibility. Each witch is solitary, however some witches form cults or circles where they practice the same magic. Due to their closeness with nature, most witches leave in the wilderness and draw their powers from it, it all depends of the form of magical power the witch wishes to control. The magic used can take multiple forms : most witches learn to understand and control a type of elemental magic via an ancient artefact and years of practice ; some prefer to use this magic to other means and decide to show their wisdom to other places. Elemental forces are ruled by a circular motion : each element is weak and strong over another. These elemental powers came from a long and ancient lineage of different races who used to embody those forces. Nowadays, all races can attempt to bend those forces by hard work and dedication (or by the remains of an old legacy).

Water rules over Fire which rules over Wind which rules over Earth which rules over Lightning which rules over Water. Light and Shadows are weak and strong over each other.

Over the decades, a legend had been passed upon generations of witches : a lesson that every new witches is told to remember and think upon.

Many, many years from now, in another realm, a powerful white witch watched over the Triforce while maintaining neutrality. The white witch could see past, present and future alike, they could gaze upon each living souls in Hyrule although intervene they could not. Yet, they remained true to their word and kept watching over the Triforce and the realm without fail. Although one day, their eyes were focused on one unique soul and their soul and heart became obsessed over this sparking light. However, little do they know that, obsession clouding their eyes, that darkness was creeping slowly into their heart and before they could do anything, their soul was as dark as a new moon.

A tremendous fight occurred, ripping time and space alike as much the powers of the witch were strong. Yet, they were defeated by the same power they used to protect. Defenseless in front of the bearers of the Triforce, their heart and soul completely consumed by darkness, they used their last forces to fight their opponents before fading away from this world

It is safe to add that not all witches are bound to the cult of the Triforce or any other God or Goddess ; although they acknowledge their power and influence in the world, most witches trust their proper magic and knowledge. Being part of a cult is also common for a witch. They then draw their powers from their wisdom and their patreon if possible.

MAGICIANS

Magicians are quite alike witches (See : Witches) although they choose a more practical use of magic. That doesn't mean they do not excel in their art or are inept on the whereabouts of their powers, but they choose to live amongst neophytes. Actually, the term 'magician' was originally used by non-magic persons to describe these mysterious people living with them. Even if the first interactions were complicated, the population came to ignore at worst and appreciate at best the help that magicians provided.

Contrary to their witch colleagues, magicians have taken a liking for non-elemental magic, drawing their powers for arcanas, spirits or natural items they find or create by themselves.

Amongst magicians, we can found seers, apothecaries, healers or potion brewers. Concerning potion brewers, they consider themselves as witch but keep a close contact with the population for trading purposes. People also calls 'magician' those who play magic tricks, yet, if true magician you are, only you can tell the difference between deception and magical powers.

SEER

Seers commonly use the shadow forces or the help of spirits to catch a glimpse of the future. With the help of practical tools, they can tell precisely, or not, part of your past, present and future life. Some seers use their powers to gain money and make a living, although some seers are so harassed by their visions that they prefer to live alone, spending time meditating to control the forces inside them.

Note : The shadow folks are known for their seers and the artefacts known to show the truth and uncover lies.

APOTHECARY AND POTION BREWERS

Apothecaries provide herbal medicine, potions or other magical objects (such as blue flames) to those who need it. Sometimes apothecaries are magicians themselves however they often just buy their merchandise to recluse witches and then sell it (often twice its price).

Potion brewers is self-explanatory. These witches/magicians go fetch their ingredients to produce potions of multiple effects. Health, magical powers, defense, strength, with the required ingredients and a lot of expertise, these potions are really coveted by travellers and adventurers.

HEALER

Healing magic is considered a blessing from god-like entities. The use of this magic often doesn't need study, those blessed possess an instinct to heal through prayers or ancient rites. Fear are a common thing for healers, their magic can bring the ill back or bring their enemies down with pest. Healers are cautious with their powers or hide them carefully.

Note : Healers are also another word to describe a doctor.

MUSIC MAGICIAN

Some persons are doted of strange powers and a talent for music. Their music can control weather or time, can even appease or drain the life out of anyone who listens. Those mysterious magicians are hard to meet and keep their creation to themselves, to keep them out of wrong hands. Generally helped with an instrument of some sort, music magicians charm their world and only leave behind notes carved on eerie places.
